From genetic mutants and killer insects to a global conspiracy concerning the colonisation of Earth by an alien species, this mind-boggling, humorous and occasionally frightening series created by Chris Carter has been one of the world's most popular sci-fi/drama shows since its humble beginnings in 1993.

Gillian Leigh Anderson

Gillian's love for acting began when she decided to
audition for a community play while still attending City High School in Grand
Rapids, Michigan.
As a child, Gillian showed a flair for drama but was more of a tomboy who
harbored dreams of becoming a marine Biologist than the dream of movie stardom.
Gillian Leigh Anderson was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 9th, 1968.
Soon after her birth, the family relocated to Puerto Rico for 15 months and
then moved to England. Gillian spent the next 9 years of her childhood growing
up in London's North End. First in Stamford Hill, then later in Crouch End,
while her father Edward was studying film production at the London School
of Film Technique in Covent Garden for 2 years. Eventually the family moved
back to the States and settled in Grand Rapids. Her father now runs a film
post-production company and her mother is a computer analyst.
After graduating from City High School in 1986, Gillian studied acting at
the prestigious DePaul University's Goodman Theater and graduated with a Bachelor's
degree in Fine Arts. Upon obtaining her degree, Gillian headed to New York
at the age of 22 to pursue a career in acting. Gillian's first big break came
she landed a role in the off Broadway play 'Absent Friends.' In LA, Gillian
landed a guest appearance in the short-lived TV series 'Class of 96.'
In 1993, Gillian auditioned for a TV pilot on a newly formed Fox Network called
The X-Files, in which she auditioned for the role of Special Agent Dana Scully.
Just as the show was taking off, Gillian met Clyde Klotz, the series assistant
art director at the time. On New Year's Day of 1994, Gillian and Clyde flew
to Hawaii and got married on the 17th hole of a golf course. Gillian has a
daughter, Piper, in September of 1994

David Duchovny

David Duchovny earned an undergraduate degree from Princeton University. He earned a graduate degree in English Literature at Yale University.
While at Yale, he began studying acting, and was soon appearing in off-Broadway plays. In 1987 he abandoned his doctoral studies at Yale and began pursuing a career in acting.
He achieved fame when he landed the role of FBI agent Fox Mulder on the sci-fi hit, The X-Files.
He continues to act in films, including Evolution and Full Frontal.
He made his directorial debut with The House of D.
He is married to actress Tea Leoni, and they currently live in Southern California with their children.

Robert Patrick
Role: Special Agent John Doggett
Birthplace: Marietta, Georgia
Birthday: 11-5-1958
Best known for his performance as the "T-1000"
in Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Robert's film career has spanned an impressive
range of roles. After moving to Hollywood in 1984, he performed in the play
Go and was discovered by a casting director for Roger Corman's production
company. He worked in two Corman films: Warlords From Hell and Equalizer 2000.
Robert's illustrious feature credits also include All the Pretty Horses, Eye
See You, A Texas Funeral, Spy Kids, Texas Rangers, Striptease, The Faculty,
Copland and Fire in the Sky.
Born in Marietta, Georgia, Robert played American Legion Baseball in high
school and football at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. After sitting
in on some drama classes, he decided to quit football for acting. Robert co-starred
in the Los Angeles premiere of David Mamet's The Shawl, and had a recurring
role in the HBO series The Sopranos. While a partner in the now dissolved
independent film production company, 360 Entertainment, he produced Within
the Rock and The End of the Road, a film in which he had a starring role.
His brother Richard Patrick is the lead singer for the band Filter and former
live guitarist for Nine Inch Nails, who had songs on two of the series' soundtracks,
Songs in the Key of X: Music From and Inspired by The X-Files ('Thanks Bro')
and The X-Files: The Album - Fight the Future (a cover of the Tree Dog Night
song 'One').

Annabeth Gish
Role: Special Agent Monica Reyes
Birthplace: Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
Birthday: 3-13-1971
Annabeth grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She attended Northern University High School and graduated in 1989. She took a break from acting in order to gain a BA in English in July 1993.

Mitch Pileggi
Role: Assistant Director Walter Skinner
Mitch Pileggi graduated from the University of Texas
at Austin, and after college decided to pursue a career in acting. He had
small roles in films like 'Return of the Living Dead Part 2' and 'Deathwish
4: The Crackdown.' He played the titular role in the Wes Craven serial killer
flick, 'Shocker.'
In 1994, he landed the role of FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner on the
sci-fi show, 'The X-Files.'
Mitch married wife Arlene in Hawaii on Christmas Break 1996.
