Andromeda

The Commonwealth spanned three galaxies and a myriad of cultures. Dylan Hunt, captain of the starship Andromeda, was frozen in time and awoke three centuries later to find the Commonwealth had fallen. To fight back the chaos among the stars, Hunt must use the Andromeda to restore the Commonwealth and bring unity to the galaxy once again. He recruits a mercenary, Tyr Anasazi, and the crew of the Eureka Maru: Captain Beka Valentine, Engineer Seamus Harper, Physicist Rev Bem, and Medical Officer Trance Gemini.

After discovering the Spirit of the Abyss and its powerful weapon, the Magog Worldship, the need for the Commonwealth is greater than ever. 50 member worlds are finally recruited, and the reconstruction of the Commonwealth is finally truly underway. More and more worlds sign on, contributing their fleets to protect each other.

In the third season, Dylan and the crew travel from world to world as instructed by the Triumvirate, the leaders of the Commonwealth. But everything is building to the moment from one of his crew will betray him.

The fourth year deals with the corruption of the Commonwealth after the recent betrayal. Things become more intense as the Andromeda is expelled from the Commonwealth, Trance reveals her true form, Harper holds a weapon capable of destroying the Commonwealth, Beka becomes possessed by the Spirit of the Abyss, and a new crew member joins. But the Magog Worldship is nearing, and the final confrontation is to protect a Utopian society from it.

She was brought into the world of acting due to her performance in various operas. She sung in the Canadian Children's Opera Chorus which started her operas.

She spent nine years training to be a ballerina.

She has two younger sisters, Heather and Jennifer, who are also actresses.

She attended Queen's University located in Kingston, Ontario for one year before transferring to a university closer to her home in Toronto.

Gordon Michael Woolvett

In the early 90's, Gord was a host of YTV's Video and Arcade Top 10, which was basically a weekly half-hour long commercial for Nintendo video game systems. In the summer of 1992, his future Andromeda co-star, Lexa Doig, was (briefly) also a host for the movie and music segments.

During the early through mid 90's, he was also known to Canadian children (and Sailor Moon watching adult slackers) as "PJ Gord" on YTV, the Canadian equivalent of Nickelodeon. Canadian broadcasters are only allowed to devote about half as much time per hour to commercials during children's programming as American broadcasters are allowed, so, to fill the gaps between programmes during the daytime, YTV has hosts. Gord most often did the Noon to 2:30 pm shift, though he sometimes filled in for other PJs.

Laura Bertram played his girlfriend on Mission Genesis (Deepwater Black) and went on to work on Andromeda with him. His brother, Jaime Woolvett, did an episode of 'Kung Fu' with him. Began acting at age 12, attending the Theatre Aquarius. Was nominated for a Gemini award for his role of a cancer patient in the television movie Princes in Exile. Was a PJ (Program Jockey) on YTV (Youth Television) in Ontario for a few years in the station's formative years. After stint on YTV, he lost a bit of weight before moving on to more important roles in movies and TV.

Steve Bacic

Was born on March 13, 1965 in Lisicic, Croatia. “Having grown up in a small blue-collar town" his first career choice was to become either a coach or a physical therapist. After graduating high school he went on to university, where he earned an honours degree in kinesiology.

At the age of 25 he had his own auto refurbishing business, and was doing quite well in life, but was questioning his career choice.
He spent some time in Vancouver and got sidetracked, although intrigued with the feature film and TV production business, he wasn’t certain it was right for him. A year later Steve returned to Vancouver and began taking acting classes. At this time he worked as as a waiter so support himself. He met Ethan Hawke and Stephen Dorff, who offered him extra work in their movies. His first tv role was as a guest star on 21 Jump Street

For fourteen years, Steve Bacic has done everything from tickle people’s funny bones to send chills up their spines with his performances on the small and big screens. Steve has appeared in tv productions like The Outer Limits, Stargate SG-1, Smallville and The X-Files. He's also appeared in movies such as The 6th Day, Threshold, X2 and the Hallmark Channel film The Colt.

He edited, wrote, produced and also starred in Teacher, an independent feature film.

Lexa Doig

Lexa Doig was born June 8, 1973 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her birth name was Alexandra L. Doig. Her height is 5' 6" (167 cm). Lexa has an older brother named Ted. Her parents’ names are Gloria and David. Her mother's origin is the Philipines, and her father has English and Scottish ancestry. She caught the acting bug at the age of nine, after seeing a production of Porgy and Bess. At the age of sixteen, she enrolled in a modelling course and was immediately picked up by an agent. She did commercials and modelling work, before dropping out of high school during her final year to pursue an acting career. She worked on stage productions of Romeo and Juliet and Arsenic and Old Lace while auditioning for film and television roles. Doig landed the role of Tina Backus on the short-lived series CI5: The New Professionals in 1998, and finally burst into the spotlight with her role as the title character on the sci-fi series Andromeda.

Lexa Doig has recently starred in Human Cargo (2004) playing the role of Rachel Sanders, and Jason X (2001) as Rowan. Lexa Doig has also featured in many movies such as The Tracker (2000/I), Andromeda (2000), and No Alibi (2000). Some of Lexa Doig's early breakthroughs were in Video & Arcade Top 10 (1991) playing the role of Host, TekWar (1994) as Cowgirl, TekWar: TekLords (1994) as Cowgirl, and TekWar (1994) as Cowgirl.

She's married to actor Michael Shanks, and they have a child; Mia Tabitha Shanks, born September 13, 2004. Doig, Shanks and Mia divide their time between Toronto and Vancouver, the centre of the Canadian film industry, with plans to move to Los Angeles in the near future. Doig enjoys reading, roller-blading and playing RPG video games and Dungeons and Dragons

Lisa Ryder

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Lisa Ryder started performing as a child through dance, attending the Edmonton Studio of Ballet. She never considered acting as a career until she attended the University of Toronto. There she took Drama as an option and was bitten by the acting bug. After graduation, she and some friends formed Bald Ego Productions, a local Toronto theatre group. While with Bald Ego, Lisa displayed a multitude of talents, choreographing, writing, and co-writing many of stage shows. In the mid-nineties, Lisa began appearing on television with guest spots on shows like Kung Fu: The Legend Continues and PsiFactor: Chronicles of the Paranormal.

Her first "big" role came in the form a straight-laced cop, named Tracy Vetter on the sci-fi/drama show Forever Knight. Forever Knight allowed Lisa to build a cult following on the internet that continued to grow, even after the show was cancelled. After Forever Knight, Lisa continued acting on stage, television, and film. She had a variety of guest spots on many science fiction shows, but also appeared on the critically acclaimed CBC series THE NEWSROOM. In 1998 received critical acclaim herself for her portrayal of "Joey" in the film Stolen Heart (1998). Currently Lisa co-stars with Kevin Sorbo on the Gene Roddenberry series "Andromeda" (2000), showing every week in syndication, around the world.

Brandy Ledford

Model, actress, and sometimes producer Brandy Lee Ledford was born in Denver, Colorado, and was raised in Redondo Beach, California. She graduated from Redondo Union High School. She married actor Martin Cummins (Poltergeist: The Legacy, Dark Angel), with whom she has a son, nicknamed 'Batman.' Ledford and Cummins divorced in 2004. Her son's name has never been revealed for his protection. Brandy has trained in dance and has a green belt in Thai Boxing. She is most famously known for her roles on Baywatch Hawaii and The Invisible Man.

If you recognize her pretty face, but not the name, you might know her as Brandy Sanders. Credited as 'Jisel', she even garnered a spot as a Penthouse Pet in May 1990 when she was just 21 years old. She was later named the 1992 Penthouse Pet of the Year

Another interesting tit-bit, she has dual citizenship in the U.S. and Canada, where her mother and her former husband are from.

Kevin Sorbo

Kevin spent 3 years travelling around the world, modelling for print ads and appearing in over 150 commercials, before landing in his breakout series "Hercules". Kevin David Sorbo was born in Mound, Minnesota, on September 24, 1958. In high school, the "Sorbs" excelled at football, baseball and basketball; in college he played these 3 sports, plus hockey. Kevin was also in a number of plays.

After leaving college, Kevin joined an actors theatre group, and travelled to Europe, then to Sydney, Australia appearing in commercials. At the end of 1986 he settled in Los Angeles. Kevin began to make guest appearances on such popular shows as "Murder, She Wrote".

At 6'3" and very muscular, Kevin was a natural for the title role in what would become his signature series "Hercules: the Legendary Journeys". Kevin became internationally famous, and he learned the craft of film-making well enough to direct and co-write some of the episodes. Kevin even studied martial arts in order to do many of his own stunts.

In real life, Kevin's heart is as big as Hercules' -- he leads "A World Fit for Kids!" as the chair and spokesperson. Kevin devotes much of his time to "A World Fit For Kids!" which is a successful mentoring model that trains inner-city teens to use school, fitness, sports and positive role models for themselves, and then become the coaches and mentors for younger children. In 1998, Kevin married lovely actress Sam ("Sandra") Jenkins, best known for her dual role on "Hercules" as Serena/Golden Hind ("Hind" is a female red deer).

In a revelation from Trance, Dylan finds out that Trances people believe the Pyrian fleet stronger and better equipped to handle the forthcoming war. With this information, she tells Dylan to pull out and let the Pyrians win so that they can take on the Magog World Ship instead of the renewed Commonwealth. Dylan sees that the only way to stop them is to destroy the planet that he is trying so hard to save.

After receiving a message from an unknown planet 3 days in Slipstream away, the crew of the Andromeda takes it upon themselves to save the people. The strange thing is that the message is a woman and it is going directly into Dylan’s head and no-one else can hear it.

As they enter the ice moon of one of the planets, they come upon the Vault of the Heavens. A large palace made of ice. In discovering this the coms are cut and on Dylan's orders, Try destroys an energy cloud above the planet. After discovering that the aliens mean no harm, Dylan finds out that they need the cloud, or the entire species will die!

The crew rescues two people from a spaceship, the leaders of opposing sides in a long civil war on a nearby planet. The two warring sides have built an immense wall separating the northern and southern halves of the planet, and the Northerners are suffering from a plague that is blamed on the Southerners. After Dylan contracts the plague, the crew tries to assist in settling the dispute and find a cure for the plague, but nothing goes as planned.

The Collectors have been using a drug to modify people's behaviour, discovering their fears in efforts to control or break them. This is their solution for dealing with Dylan. Led by a message from Rev Bem, claiming to have a weapon that can defeat the oncoming darkness, Dylan lands on a drug-trafficking planet, and is soon taken captive by the Collectors.

While on a mission on the Eureka Maru, Dylan, Rhade and Harper are captured by the Templars. The Patriarch of the Templars presses Harper to help him build a time bridge to 210 years in the future. However, sometimes even the future is unpredictable. Meanwhile, Beka, Trance and Rommie chase down smuggler ships.

Trusting the Gordian Maze

While the Andromeda is confronted by the Commonwealth fleet and Tri-Jema, Dylan must decide whether or not he can entrust the Route of Ages to them, being tempted by a beautiful Commonwealth spy.

A Symmetry Of Imperfection

Rommie's emotions cause one of Harpers fail-safes to cut in, cutting her off from her core AI and shutting down all the ship's systems. This creates problems, especially when a satellite ship from the Magog world ship could come out of slipstream at any moment.

The death of a man named Weslow, from Beka's past, sends the crew in search of an archive that can let Beka relive some of her childhood experiences so that she may make sense of Weslow's dying words.

The Dissonant Interval (1)

Episode Number: 87

The Andromeda encounters the Arkology, a society that they believe is the closest to perfection humanity will ever achieve. But the Magog are close, and Dylan and the crew must convince the utopia that peace is not the answer. Conflict arises in the core crew when the leaders of Arkology do not wish to leave. Dylan wants to defend them, and Beka warns him that she's not going to stay and die defending an idea of peace.

The Dissonant Interval (2)

Episode Number: 88

Beka decides to leave the crew to fight for themselves, but after all of the promises that everyone will be reunited, Trance tells them that they will never be as they are again. When the Magog Worldship finally re-encounters the Andromeda after two years, Rommie and Harper race to take the Arkology to slipstream, Rhade must teach the inhabitants to defend themselves, and Dylan and Trance fight off the invading Magog. But as the Andromeda becomes covered in swarmships, Trance tells Dylan that he and only he may escape this alive.

Season 5

The Weight (1)

Episode Number: 89

Dylan finds himself on Seefra-1, one of nine identical planets orbiting two suns. He soon encounters Rhade, who has abandoned all hope. Rhade hates Dylan for the hope he has brought and when someone asks Dylan be killed Rhade agrees to do it.

The Weight (2)

Episode Number: 90

Dylan and Rhade receive a month-old distress signal from Beka. After following the coordinates she left, they find the Andromeda dead in space. On board, he finds Darregacorp engineers trying to salvage it, led by Jonah Derrega, and Beka Valentine.

Phear Phactor Phenom

Episode Number: 91

When a valuable painting gets stolen after Beka, Rhade, and everyone else in the bar inhales a mysterious mist, Dylan jumps at the opportunity to win the reward for reclaiming it so the Andromeda can be repaired. After tracing the nanobots in the mist, they encounter Harper who is accompanied by a beautiful woman named Doyle. But Harper is caught up in the plans of Marika, who wants him to genetically engineer Vedrans, as well as to take over the Seefra system.

Decay Of The Angel

When a slipstream event is detected in the Seefra system, Dylan, Rhade, and Beka try to find it, and their way out. Meanwhile, a man claiming to be from the future approaches Doyle, addressing her as Andromeda.

Beka learns she has existed in more than one place at one time when she meets a man who she knows is her father.

Dylan encounters Celine, a woman from his past and is trapped in time loops. The two are happy to see each other, but Dylan knows he may have to choose between Celine and the survival of Seefra.
